Abstract painting · Lane Cove, Sydney
Ritushka
Landscapes and seascapes, built in translucent layers.
The artist
Between the grey concrete of a Hungarian winter and the explosive blue of an Australian sky.
“Explore your own imagination. I've already given you mine.”
Born in Budapest and now painting from a studio in Lane Cove, Ritushka builds large abstract landscapes and seascapes in translucent layers, drawing on the Australian coastline, light and weather.
She does not paint what she sees. She paints what remained after everything else was stripped away. She does not want you to understand her paintings; she wants you to fall into them. Every acrylic pour, every layered scrape, every sudden rupture of colour is an invitation, an open door, a dare.
